Rice Lake Aquatic Plant Management Plan Amendment

Aquatic Invasive Species Committee

Rice Lake Association, Mercer, WI

11/04/2024

Dear Rice Lake Association Members/Public Users of Rice Lake/Neighboring Lake Association Members,

We have posted a draft amendment to the current Rice Lake Aquatic Plant Management Plan for a 21-day public review opportunity.  The amendment goals are:

  1. Manage the CLP Beds and Distribution

  2. Maintain Navigation for Fishing, Boating, and Access to Lake Residences

  3. Promote Protection and Expansion of Native Aquatic Species

  4. Prevent Introduction of New AIS

  5. Promote Awareness of CLP’s Impact and Educate Lake Residents on Water Quality and Lake Health

The Plan will be posted on our website from 11/13/24 to 12/4/24. This 21-day posting meets a DNR requirement that would allow for possible AIS cost-sharing grants in the future.  Please post any comments/critiques in the comments section.
